Lactation Tea
- Estimated delivery: Jan 24 - Jan 28
Lactation tea is a blend of traditional herbs such as fenugreek, fennel, anise, coriander and goats rue, consumed to increase milk supply during the postpartum period. Its a caffeine free tea typically brewed one to three cups a day. While scientific evidence is limited, many mothers report a positive increase in milk supply when using lactation tea. The herbs may support hydration and help relax the body, which can be beneficial to milk production. Always consult your healthcare provider before using herbal products.
Enjoy 1 cup per day for a gentle effect, or up to 3 cups per day for stronger support. The tea can be enjoyed hot or chilled after brewing.
This tea is suitable for breastfeeding mothers from birth onwards.
Supporting Milk Supply
The Australian Breastfeeding Association highlights that milk production follows the principle “demand = supply.” Lactation teas and foods are most effective when used alongside regular milk removal, either through breastfeeding or expressing. Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to work?
Most mothers notice a response within 1–3 days of consistent use. For best results, start with 3 cups per day, ideally after feeds to support replenishment. Once supply increases, the amount can be reduced to a maintenance level.
When can I start drinking lactation tea?
Lactation tea can be consumed from birth onwards, and may be used throughout your breastfeeding journey to support both supply increases and maintenance.
